I finally got out of the house with my camera after recovering from surgery a few weeks back. It felt so good to go holoholo around the neighborhood to see our dear friends the sweet donkeys and their sheep companions, as well as seeing how people have decorated their homes for the holidays.
Emily’s school is not on Christmas break yet, so we stopped by to make copies and she got her classroom in order for the next day. While she worked on work, I worked on taking pictures around her school’s beautiful campus.
Every year this one house in Makawao goes all out with holiday themed cartoon cut-outs. There must be hundreds of plywood cartoon characters in their front lawn (which isn’t that big to begin with), which faces the main street. The people who live there always stay relevant with what’s new or what the kids are into cartoon wise, and they add the newest pop culture figures in with the old school characters.
