It was all about birds and ‘bows this week. The weather cooperated early in the week, so I went up to Hosmer Grove, inside Haleakala National Park, to continue getting used to my new Sigma 150-600mm lens. I was able to shoot plenty of native Hawaiian birds, and was happy with quite a few shots. During my three hours up there, I met a lovely couple from the Boston area and spent some time with them chatting and taking pictures with them in the park.
After my fantastic day with the birds, the weather upcountry turned rainy for the duration of the week. Fortunately, that did not prevent me from going on an evening walk after work. I was able to catch a rainbow during the light rains, and the following day, on my way home from work I was able to catch another rainbow.
I also caught our sweet donkey friends up the road from us eating their dinner. The picture below has the two donkeys sharing their food bucket with their sheep companion friend. Look for the big wooly fluff between their faces.
